2011 graduate of Capilo, Augusta & 2010 & 11 graduate of Spa Tech Institute, Westbrook, Maine; a 2009 intergration graduate of the Hoffman Process,1977 graduate, New England School of Acupuncture, Watertown, MA, AS from Northeastern University, Boston MA and RDH from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene. I graduated from Cony High School, am currently a student of Art at the Universtiy of Maine in Augusta and have also studied Art & Design at MECA & Goddard college, as well as Parsons School of Design.
I believe people can relax and rejuvenate in a peaceful calm setting. A holistic facial,massage, Swedish spa back, hand, foot treatment or body wrap can help balance one's parasympathetic nervous system and create total relaxation of Body, Mind and Soul. In addition to Massage, Facials and LED light therapy & colorpuncture, I use Reiki, Polarity, reflexology , acupressure, aromatherapy in my treatments as well as crystals and selenite healing stones.
Going to my aesthetician calmed me so when unexpected illnesses and career challenges plagued my family. In addition, I have been a caregiver to my mom who had Alzheimer's for some time and know how caregivers must take care of their own needs to be able to help another loved one.
I have been in the health profession, as dental hygienist most of my life. I have had the privilege of working in both public health and private dental offices in Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York City and Switzerland. I was executive director of Prevention Partners Inc, a statewide dental hygiene service organization until Maine Care could no longer reimburse us for our services for the underserved here in Maine. I am a past President the Maine Dental Hygienists Association and was named 2005 Dental Hygienist of the Year and also became a Reiki master in the same year. I am currently a member ASCP,ABMP. & Boothbay Harbor Chamber of Commerce& the Maine Office of Tourism, www.visitmaine.com.
I am a very proud mother of two grown children: son Andrew, a graduate of Hebron Academy & Alfred University and has volunteered in Biloxi, Mississippi & Kansas City Missouri the last 2 years for Americorps as a construction leader for Habitat for Humanity. Daughter Sara, a graduate of Bates College, works in finance, is married and lives in New York City with her husband Eric & 16 month old daughter, Lucy.
We have had international visitors stay with us from Monserrat, Spain, Germany; Neuchatel, LaChaud de Fonds & Chur, Switzerland, Zimbawe, Columbia, Brazil and Yugoslavia.
My husband Ted is originally from Minnesota, a retired Air Force veteran and former recreational therapist and travel agent.
I am an avid plein air painter and work with watercolor, acrylic, oil color, collage and clay and currently studying Art at UMA. My artwork is for sale at my Art studio & Gallery, FRESH PAINT in Boothbay.I offer, by appointment, Painting sessions with watercolor, acrylic and finger paint after massage and facials in my studio. I also offer group and private art classes, as the interest evolves.
We have a wonderful 8 year old Sheltie dog named Tia and the beloved family frog that was 27 years old recenty passed away. We love to take long walks, go to the beach & visit with family & friends.
